1. open rates

     As you may know open rates through an email blast on average are pretty low around 20-30%. Open rates through Facebook Messenger are around 70-90%. Above I included a screenshot of one of our client’s chatbot back office that runs through Facebook Messenger. As you can see through the first 7 days of the sequence we have a 100% open rate, and then it drops to 91.7%. More on this later.


2. messenger A.I. Systems

     Facebook Messenger allows you to build these neat things called A.I. systems. Messenger A.I. Systems are similar to a game of tennis – talk, reply, talk, reply. They essentially take what a user inputs and then uses it’s automated intelligence system to come up with the best reply for that specific response. For example, if you look at the above screenshot you will notice that when Mike clicked the ‘This Weeks Events’ button, the A.I. system knew to respond to the upcoming events happening. Mike then tapped ‘Remind Me’, which triggered the A.I. system to remind Mike a few hours before the event. Neat huh?


3. retention rates

     Going back to the screenshot above you’ll see that through the first 7 days of the sequence we had a 100% open rate, which fell to 91.7% through the next 4 days of the sequence. That is an average of 96.9% open rate through the first 11 days of our messenger sequence. That is unheard of in the email marketing world. Why is this happening? Because people know that when they see an email from a business it is most likely some advertisement that they do not care about.

     A.I. Systems built through Facebook Messenger allow your business to be accessible 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. They also allow consumers to contact your business without having to deal with a phone call, being put on hold, or having to push a button to navigate from department to department. For the first time, the customer is happy because they have an immediate way to interact with a business, and the business owner is happy to have an automated system for handling all the inquiries coming in from social media and the web.
